Unmistakable Expectation

August 23rd, 2010

It is unmistakable, Matthew 28:19, Jesus command and instruction to the Church is to “make disciples of ALL NATIONS.” It is a direct and obvious reference to all ethnic groups. Christ’s commands expect that all believers throughout the ages will respond to this call.

Carolyn and I are more than happy to do what we can to expand the Gospel around the world through Global University. Now in 126 languages the materials of evangelism, discipleship, and training pastors and laity are far reaching. We encourage you to prayerfully consider partnering with us. Our account numbere with Assemblies of God World Missions is 2185650.

A CHRISTIAN MOTHER’S DEDICATION TO JESUS, ONE STUDENT’S STORY

April 21st, 2010

Global University’s electronic correspondence
to Iran Bible College at the discipleship and nondegree
training levels began in March 2010. The
first face-to-face session of IBC occurred in late fall
2009 in Istanbul, Turkey. Thirteen students gathered
to study the graduate course, Exposition of
Luken Pneumatology, at Global University’s graduate
studies center—now reported to be the only
Pentecostal graduate program in that area of the
world. The study center represents another open
door Global University has to impact eternity for
Jesus.
The testimonies of the students at the center
speak of their strong commitment to the Lord. Two
of the students who attempted to leave Iran to
attend the session had to return from the airport
because authorities were at their homes investigating
why they wanted to leave the country.
One student, a Christian mother, shared a testimony
of her commitment to Jesus. About ten years
ago she courted a young man who declared his interest
in becoming a Christian. However, upon marrying
him, he became controlling and abusive. After
they had a child, he insisted their child be brought
up in the Muslim faith. She resisted his demand
and went to court to seek relief. The judge declared she could be an obedient Muslim wife and raise the child in Islam or she would lose her child. She stated she saw a vision of Jesus standing beside the judge saying, “Choose whom you will serve.” She chose Jesus and lost her child. Some time later she visited her child at school and was shocked to learn the child was left alone for long periods of time. When asked who cared for the child when the father was away, the child responded, “The man in the picture at grandfather’s house, Jesus, cares for me when I am alone. I love Him!” Indescribable joy filled the mother’s heart when she heard this.
Almost immediately after this encounter, the authorities came, took her to the airport, deported her from Iran, and threatened her family if she ever returned. Today, despite discouragement, in addition to studying for her M.A. with Global University, she also serves on staff at a church and is caring for nine young children—all while waiting for the opportunity to be reunited with her own child.
Global University’s next graduate session will take place in May in another country. Because of the feedback from the first session, additional students are signed up to take the next course. We are humbled at the privilege of being used by God to open doors for study of God’s Word by people who pay such a price for their faith.

“A UNIQUE INSTITUTION”

April 9th, 2010

GLOBAL
UNIVERSITY
5
Global University is a unique institution that
serves a vital niche in higher education,
bringing education to those who otherwise
could not have it.” The chair of the Higher
Learning Commission used these words to describe
Global University and its role of serving people
around the world.
After former president George Flattery and current
president Gary Seevers appeared before the
accreditation review council in Chicago on January
8, 2010, that same chair stated Global University’s
appearance was the best he had ever witnessed.
Clearly, the Holy Spirit led the council in understanding
the mission and vision of Global University.
February 22, 2010 was a historic day as a vision
from God was brought to fruition as the HLC board
of trustees granted initial regional accreditation to
Global University.

ALL THE WORD to ALL THE WORLD

March 4th, 2010

Global University consists of four schools: the CENTER FOR EVANGELISM and DISCIPLESHIP, BEREAN SCHOOL of the BIBLE, UNDERGRADUATE SCHOOL of BIBLE and THEOLOGY, and the GRADUATE SCHOOL of THEOLOGY.

Global University has 232 offices in 156 countries. People worldwide are evangelized, discipled, and fully trained through our system of outreaches and our comprehensive programs of study. Global University offers three bachelor degrees, and two Master of Arts Degrees with various concentrations, and a Master of Divinity.

Global University has 17, 061 students directly enrolled with the school in 41,910 courses. This number does not take into account thousands of students who use our materials but are not directly enrolled with Global University.

Because of the desire of students to acquire methodically sound training, Global University facilitates an accredited model of education for its schools overseas. Two examples of this are East African Advanced School of Theology in Nairobi, Kenya and Cape Theological in Cape Town, South Africa.

Reverend John Karanja from Kenya, East Africa is one of our students who has comprehensively studied through all the different levels of education offered by Global University. Former director of the East African Advanced School of Theology and a former Kenyan missionary to Malawi, Rev. Karanja describes his training:

After accepting Christ as my personal savior I was given the Great Questions of Life to study. This evangelism course not only directed me in my new found faith but also established a life-long pattern of systematic study in the Word of God…Later I attended the East Advanced School of Theology where I completed a Bachelors degree from Global University in Bible and Theology…I am presently enrolled in the Masters of Divinity program at Global University so that I can return to Kenya with even greater tools than I had yesterday…There are thousands of men and women in need of training around the world. The training I received I know has resulted in thousands of souls being won to the Lord of the Harvest.

John reports that 65 denominations have sent their future leaders to study at Global University’s school in Kenya because of the effectiveness in the field of Global University’s graduates.

Rev. Karanja’s report to us of Global University’s success in East Africa echoes what we are hearing around the world; just in 2007, Global University students planted over 2,700 churches worldwide!

Life is too short to wake up with regrets…

March 3rd, 2010

Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about the one’s who don’t. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.
